The original start date was anticipated for mid-June. Although, the contractor has rescheduled for a June 27th start date
This project consists of the rehabilitation of an existing 54” diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) that conveys Stonybrook Creek beneath Alden Way and ultimately to the Mississippi River. An inspection following the installation of the Craigbrook storm sewer interceptor and the Stonybrook Outfall Stabilization Project, completed in 2019, showed the bottom of the culvert beginning to corrode. If left as-is, over time the bottom of the culvert can become so deteriorated that pipe failure can occur. In addition to negative environmental impacts, such a failure has the potential to damage the adjacent creek banks, the roadway and the recently completed bank stabilization improvements.
